Muíño do Vento was the 4th kitten born at M litter. Vento has an impresive look , wild and strong,
and a sweet temper, lovely and playful. Vento is a strong and very big kitten, with strong bones.
He has long body and tail, and well balanced head. Vento has a nice head triangle, long and straight profile,
very big ears, well settled, wide at base and with XXL lynx tips. He also has stunning green almond eyes.

Origin of the name: Muíño do Vento

The names of all the M litter males start with “Muíño”, which means “Mill” in Galician language.
Galicia has thousands of water mills, due the high number of rivers in our land.
We also have few tide mills (as famous Narón Tide Mill), that take advantage of the force of the sea.
The windmills were scanty in Galicia, and today only some vestiges stay.
People used to go to the mill together, and organized parties (“called muiñadas”) while they wait for grinding the grain.
They were singing, were dancing and doing social life. From these parties born the “Muiñeira”, a traditional
musical rhythm, very popular in our country, which also has a specific dancing, also called Muiñeira.
There are many songs in Galicia which talk about this mill parties or “muiñadas”. Here you are two well known examples:

“Unha noite no muíño/unha noite non e nada/ unha semaniña enteira/ esa sí que é muiñada”
(Translation: “One night at the mill/ one night is nothing/ a whole week there/ tha's a true mill party”)

“Era unha noite de lúa/era unha noite clara/eu pasaba polo río/ da volta da muiñada”
(Translation: “There was a full moon night/ there was a bright night/ I was walking at the river side/I was coming back from the mill party”)

There are 6 villages in Galicia called O Muíño do Vento, 5 of them are located in A Coruña.
The 6th O Muíño do Vento is located at Vigo Municipality , in Alcabre.
There we can find the last vestiges of a wind mill, which were very rare at South Galicia.
